Members: I've just received a review copy of Tony Avent's new book, 'So You Want To Start A Nursery,' (Timber Press, 2003, ISBN# 0-88192-584-5) and found it to be a truly useful tool for those thinking of going into the nursery business as well as those who already have one toe in the water with perhaps a plant production business at their home. Many, many useful topics are discussed: from plant importing, satisfying government regulations, plant patents and trademarks, the pitfalls of no water/electricity backups, making contacts, advertising, promoting plants, when to think big, when to cut your losses, how to set up a website, etc. This is probably a topic very close to the hearts of many in our "Bulbs Anonymous" group.
