Dear Kelly, Canna seed is very long lived if stored correctly. It will germinate after years. For storage I recommend the fridge (NOT the freezer) prefeably the vegetable compartment, that is where I store all my seed. Canna seed will germinate much better if chipped and then sown with bottom heat. So far I have never lost any plant material in the mail baut who knows?
