Paul,

This information is very interesting.  We have some clay here in Long Beach
as well.  Since early builders moved soil around to fill swamp and river bed
areas, it is difficult to determine where a particular location's soil
"originated."  Only lab tests would assist in that information.

By the way,  have "our" Cyrtanthus seedlings survived the cold weather?  Our
weather has been VERY warm and dry.  The few that germinated for me are
doing well.  The largest is about the size of a pea.
