Dear Uli,

Alberto may respond on this, but in the past he has said, "Ipheion 'Rolf Fiedler' is an undescribed species of Ipheion, tender, and different than I uniflorum. It also offsets in a different way than I. uniflorum. "

I have a lot of references to it in my personal archives and we discussed in a lot in September when Alberto was telling us it should be watered year round since it had perennial roots and some of us were saying it bloomed a very long time even with a summer dry period.

What I have noticed about mine is that when they first start to bloom in the fall the color is much lighter than when they are blooming later (like now.) I'm not sure why that is.

I haven't ever read that anyone has given this a species name so would be interested if that changes.

Mary Sue
