See Flowers in Motion

If you have a high speed internet connection and the QuickTime plug in for your
browser, take a look at this link:

http://sunflower.bio.indiana.edu/~rhangart/…

It has informative text on 10 plants, mostly bulbous, and shows time-lapse
sequences of them opening, explaining a bit about how they do it, and closing.

The flowers include: Passiflora, Narcissus, Crocus, and Amorphophallus
titanum. Just select each plant from the left column to see it in the right
window.

I don't know if the download time on the files would be prohibitive for a dial
up connection.
