Pro Lycoris versus nothing

Dear All:

I feel a word or two is necessary in response to Jim's statements, since I
have a nursery, bought from Jim and I am on this list. There has been no
communication between Jim and myself as to the fate of the bulbs he sold me.

I grow all my bulbs. That means I propagate almost everything myself, In
cases where I am unable to grow bulbs from seed I buy bulbs (such as
Lycoris), and grow them on. The following year some are sold to recoup the
investment (at prices that are a far cry from tripling or quintupling), then
some remaining bulbs are used for propagation. I have about half the bulbs
that Jim ever sold to me.

When vague allegations are made about nurseries on this list, people will
make their own interpretations. I don't usually feel the need to defend my
reputation, but since Jim and I have had no correspondence regarding the
fate of the bulbs he sold me, in this case I feel it is necessary.
