Hi everyone,

If anyone is feeling a little confused about the relationships between
animals, plants, fungi, and bacteria, you might be interested in looking
over the web site of the Tree of Life Project
at: http://tolweb.org/tree/phylogeny.html From this site we can see the
answers to a few questions:

Are bacteria plants? No. Only the chloroplasts and mitochondria in plant
cells are related to bacteria.

Are fungi plants? No, fungi are more closely related to animals than they
are to plants.

Are viruses alive? Beats me.......!

Regards,
Jim Shields
