Jim Waddick asked, in reference to Cardiocrinum giganteum yunnanensis,

	>Surely this must be available somewhere

Maybe it is, right under our noses. I acquired a plant of C. giganteum last
year which had a strong bronze-purple suffusion on the foliage. It was a
newly imported plant from Chen Yi.

The early successful introductions of this plant in England were apparently
of the far western forms. The new material coming out of China is coming
from who knows where.

doubtless feeling a heartfelt resentment to the heat and humidity.
