Veltheimia inflorescence producing leaves

Dear Tsuh Yang,

My Veltheimia capensis are too small to bloom, but I think Doug has said
they flower early in the fall. My V. bracteata have just started to bloom
in the last couple of weeks when we have been having a heat wave (by our
standards 10 to 25 degrees warmer than usual for a couple of weeks and
dry.) I assume yours are inside however so probably someone who grows them
as house plants would be better able to say when theirs bloom. They are in
bud a long time.

As for your statement "now, the capensis is growing leaves at the top of
the inflorescence", it seems a little strange. My plants are starting to
die back. Do you suppose you could upload a picture to the wiki so we'd
know what you are talking about?

Mary Sue
