Xerophyta sprouting?

I had no problem germinating Xerophyta viscosa.  They were sown in my 
standard mix in mid winter and germinated in the GH when the temps rose above 45F.  
Tried some plants outside in the garden but they did not survive the winter 
(checked them yesterday).
