Sounds like 'Staggie' to me: it is very difficult to cure/control and can be
a serious menace in Galanthus and Narcissus here in Europe, but seems to
coexist with Hippeastrum, Crinum, Nerine etc. The fungicide Bavistin seems
to be the best option available at present, but there may be others as well.

Subject: [pbs] Stagonospora curtisii???

Hi group members,

I live in South Africa and grow a wide range of bulbs. I am having trouble
controlling the "Red blotch" on some of my Scadoxus. The fungus that causes
this, I think, is Stagonospora curtisii and lives inside the plant sells.

Could anyone suggest a treatment for this???

Thanks,

Pieter van der Walt
