In central California there is NO rain at this time of year.  Amaryllis 
belladonna could care less.  Lycoris squamagira reacts the same.  In 
July we had 29 days of fog.  No rain.  No sun.  At the moment both of 
these dependable bulbs are beginning to bloom  all over the area.  We 
still have had no rain and should not expect any until the end of 
October or maybe early November.  That is an optimum condition!   The 
so-called naked ladies are strutting their stuff right now, regardless 
of the weather.
