Dear All:
Millie's information is so very comprehensive.
It is very practical to store each stamen (or anther)
individually inside a folded aluminum foil rectangle with the name written
on it. This way one can avoid handling all the stock of one kind of pollen
at once (thawing pollen affects it viability). Besides amaryllids pollen of
all other bulbous plants can be stored in a dark tightly closed jar with
some silica gel in the refrigerator door. Very simple, no need of expensive
equipment. The only precaution, do not freeze and defrost more than once (or
very few times). It affects pollen's life.
All the best
Alberto
