Dear all,

Maybe some of the rest of you who grow this can comment about dormancy for
their plants. Mine are only briefly dormant. The picture I put on the wiki
was taken in August last year when I was dividing some dormant plants to
share with someone. You can see the shoot. It was already starting back
into growth. For me this happens from August to September most years. I
don't know if it would be dormant longer in a place with a hotter summer.
It has bloomed as early as February too. Usually it is a spring bloomer.

I've given seeds to the BX three times. Let's hear from some of the other
people who grow this about dormancy. By the way it is not long from seed to
bloom compared to some things. The first time I tried it I didn't get seed
until late January. It germinated in early March and bloomed two springs
later. Subsequently I have started seed in the fall but I don't have a
record of when those plants bloomed.

Mary Sue
