Jim,

I was just looking at your mystery Fritillaria...... I can't help with ID
but I do know that when IDing Frits it is important to be able to see the
markings and organ arrangement inside the flower as so many of the Frits
are superficially the same on the outside but can vary quite extensively on
the inside. You might be able to get someone to ID it a little easier if
there is a photo of the inner markings etc as well?

Just trying to help to see if someone can then identify it for you. The
problem so often with the Frits is that you end up naturally getting
hybrids between a few of the species which somewhat muddy the
identification waters! <grin>

Good luck!!

Cheers.
