Colchicum questions

Plants having different forms at different seasons, or 
making leaves and flowers at different seasons is a 
problem.  The petiolarid primulas Primula edgeworthii and 
Primula nana are the same plant but were described as 
distinct species because the winter and summer foliage is 
completely different, and each author hadn't seen the 
other 'form'.
