We went to Death Valley last week to find the southern end awash with color. A visit to Table Mountain yesterday was similarly rewarding. No one mentions the heady scent that wafts over the hillsides from these displays but it was exceptional at Table Mountain. I would love to see the Arizona desert this year. Anyone who can make it should find these sites stunning.

Sierra foothills, Northern California. I planted well over 2000 bulbs last year. After a very mild winter, Narcissus, Iris, Muscari and Anemone are a riot of color, with Babiana and Freesia soon to follow. I get drunk from the scent when I walk out the door.
