Rachel Saunders of Silverhillseeds writes that the seed they offer "Iridaceae Babiana sp nova: Attractive long-stemmed Babiana with purple fl. Sow Au. (Feb in Northern hemisphere). Previously sold as Babiana villosa purple" is the maroon Babiana villosa that is endemic to Tulbagh - which I have now harvested. It is closer to a strong red in color.
