I recently viewed both these species and the similar T. cretica in Crete,
and one of the experts in the group I was with commented that some
authorities believe they should be regarded as a single species. Their
habitats are a bit different -- T. "bakeri" is out in flat valley fields,
and T. "saxatilis" on rocky hills and ledges. Those in the valley are big
and showy.
