Yes, the plants in the population I photographed were less "golden" than S. 
lutea, and so is the one I have at home. In addition, they are more 
goblet-shaped, while S. lutea seems usually to be more flaring, and they 
seem to be held more upright, while the other yellow sternbergias tend to 
be held at an angle. As noted in John G.'s post, the leaves of my plant are 
slightly twisted. The fact that both Jim and John G. got S. clusiana along 
with commercial S. lutea coincides with the origin of my plant, which 
Panayoti got that way.
