There's also Solanopteris brunei and S. bifrons that form what are taken to be tubers (actually modified stems) along the rhizome that are frequently inhabited by ants. (!) The ferns get nourishment from the debris-filled abandoned tubers. The ferns that are inhabited by the ants are said to be healthier than those without any guests.
