Fw: mid september bulbs

Hello, John.

If you are in Menlo Park, why not go over to the Sunset magazine HQ there,
which has a demonstration garden planted for seasonal display? You could
check out what's blooming this September and also perhaps ask for advice.

Botanical gardens are another great source of inspiration; the Strybing in
San Francisco is on your doorstep.

Rosy Lilium speciosum var. rubrum blooms into early September; L. auratum is
blooming
here now, later than usual; white with a wonderful perfume. Perhaps
these two could be retarded to bloom at the wedding (I haven't done that but
perhaps someone on this list knows the drill). Other bulbs and allies
blooming in September include Colchicum, fall Crocus, Cyclamen and
Tricyrtis.
