Roscoea cautleyoides

Have you tried Roscoea purpurea, Mark?  It's later blooming and 
doesn't have as many cosmetic issues at this season.  I'll try to 
take a photo of a couple of the cultivars currently in growth here -- 
one in particular has quite striking leafage, as well as attractive flowers.
