Hannonia, again - OT to the max

Semele (Handel) and Danae (Strauss) have operas named after them. But
Electra (in Strauss' opera) died from dancing too hard before she was able
to have children; funny - dancing often leads to the creation of children.

I have not seen the original description. In fact, I should not have
presented my hypothesis about the name as "fact". For all I know, the
secretary in the office of Braun-Blanquet and Maire (sounds like a law firm)
was named Hannon. : )

Alberto, where did you find your reference to Hannonia? In the texts I
consulted, and on wikipedia, the wife of Cadmus (Cadmo) is given as
Harmonia, not Hannonia.

Here's something of interest to others. The wikipedia version says this: "
the gods gave him as wife Harmonia, daughter of Ares and Aphrodite, by whom
he had a son Polydorus, and four daughters, Agave, Autonoë, Ino and Semele."

Note the names of the daughters: three of them should be familiar to
participants of this list.

Those of you correcting your Scilla labels: please note the dieresis in the
name Autonoë.

The wikipedia account says that in other versions, Harmonia is said to be
the daughter of Zeus and Electra. The Electra in question is presumably the
Pleiad Electra, daughter of Pleione, mother of Dardanus (by Zeus; Dardanus
and Harmonia are brother and sister).

Now when you take a look at the image of Iris 'Dardanus' on the wiki,
perhaps it will bring a new association.

How many of you grow Pleione? They're very nice.

Does anyone out there grow Semele? I have Danaë and Ruscus.

Let's see what others turn up on these topics.

Have I driven anyone crazy yet?
