Sorry Arnold I should have used more
internationally recognized terminology. Members of what might be
described as the parrot family seem to be able to find these bulbs
especially after rain. They must play a part in keeping this weed
species down in numbers judging by the numbers of bulb tunics that I
find after flocks of birds have feasted. Unfortunately Romulea rosea is
a very prolific seed
producer in our climate.
