Hi Fred:

I would approach Gagea with the caution. They are widespread in the
Caucasus and those populations were very weedy once they migrated to
cultivated conditions at the St. Petersburg Botanical Garden as per a
personal communication from Dr. Tatyana Shulkina. Tatyana was the
curator of  their living collections for many years.
