Frit. Imperialis

Jim,

I planted 3 each of three selections of Fritillaria eduardii last fall in
full sun, good drainage - and they have been pathetic this spring. I doubt
I'll see them again. They were great bulbs; a couple didn't even show above
ground. How they can do so badly so quickly? I planted a few F. imperialis
here years ago and never saw them again. They do really well with Norm Deno
in State College - in the central PA mountains. Seems like cool and damp is
good, or at least cool. I suspect our long hot fall screwed up the
eduardii.

Best,

J.
