OT bulb exploration and finding sundews instead

Nice story, Justin, and as Adam said an experience like that can stay with
you a lifetime. As much as I'm into gardening, I don't think I've ever seen
a garden which was really memorable. But when I'm out in the field and see
nature's gardens, they really make a big impression.

Did you know that there are bulbous sundews? Years ago I had plants of some
of the South African sundews. They were in pots, and during a period when I
got very busy they were neglected and dried up.

I put the pots aside with the idea that I would eventually use them again.
The following summer I took the pots outside where they got rain. Very
quickly some robust sundew plants emerged. They were much too big to be
seedlings.

I think there are bulbous sundews in both southern Africa and in Australia,
maybe elsewhere: neat plants.
