Friends,
Years ago I was a Conservation Officer in S. Alabama. We used
to buy Chufa Nute (tubers) in 50 and 100 lb bags that were planted
to provide fall feeding areas for wild turkeys. Turkeys love them.
I think this is the time to buy and plant tubers.

Any one in the south have a feed n seed type store handy?

I always grabbed a handful to eat during planting. They are
quite tasty and in far back retrospect, I recall them tasting like
Almonds..sort of.. but don't hold me to this. It has been MANY years
ago.
