Frost damage and form

A quick observation on frost damage to some South African bulbs. We had
a mild frost last month which did result in ice formation on the ground
and leaves, although it only lasted a few hours. What I observed in my
pots of young bulbs or seedlings is that the only damage was to those
that had prostrate leaves. For example, I now see that my Brunsvigia
marginata leaves have died but nothing with more upright leaves shows
damage.
