We recorded the 10th coldest winter on record in Chicago during the month of January, 2009. Our average temperature for the month was 25.5 degrees F. Only 3 days experienced temperatures above freezing. We received 17.3 inches of snowfall - approximately 6" has remained on the ground throughout the month.
