PBSers,
I believe many of you have heard of Brent and Becky's bulbs or you're
already using them. I have personally relied on them for years to fill
my home garden with nontraditional bulbs (i.e., other than tulips and
daffs, although I admit to getting some of those also). I have always
found their prices competitive and their quality excellent so I would
recommend them personally. In any case, they have a new program whereby
if you designate the UC Botanical Garden as a recipient, they will
donate a portion of your bulb purchase (in $$) to the Garden WITHOUT ANY
EXPENSE OR EXTRA EFFORT ON YOUR PART. You pay exactly the same price as
you would normally. This program is a part of their effort to support of
Gardens like ours.

To participate, the only difference from a normal order is that you log
onto http://bloominbucks.com/ (no 'g') instead of their normal site.
This url will actually take you directly into their normal site except
that you first designate a recipient from the pulldown list (remember,
we are 'The University of California Botanical Garden at Berkeley').

I don't have to tell you that these are different financial times for us
and I am very much counting on those who care about plants and gardens
to help us. In return, the Botanical Garden has begun to send a number
of interesting bulb seeds to PBS for distribution.

In another news flash, another Titan Arum opened in the Garden last
night. It is fully opened and extremely smelly this morning. Check our
website.

Thanks, Paul
