In between the raindrops today ... I snapped this one.  I know its a bit common but is my first bloom of L.pustulata for me.

And Marguerite is right ... there are a lot of wildflowers in the Anza Borrego Desert ... although not much left in the valley bottom ... more at the mid-level elevations.  My date for the day yesterday was not a plant lover, so there was little time (well ... not enough to my liking) to stop and take pictures.  I did snap one of a Desert Lily (Hesperocallis undulata) on its final bloom:
