Correction hysteranthous = leaves appearing after the flowers proteranthous = flowers appearing before the leaves I don't see why these would not be synonyms (!). Still, you may not sound very impressive to your date if you are asked the term for "flowers appearing after the leaves" as in many geophytic pelargoniums... Dylan
