Hi Linda, I've lived in my house in the country for 10 years now. I've had more indoor ant infestations this year (3 so far) than all the previous years combined. The first infestation was little black ants in February. Then in May it was the big black ants. And again in July more big black ants. Other people around Cincinnati have reported similar ant problems. So it seems to be a regional phenomenon. Outdoors I haven't noticed more ants... except where I grow Campsis radicans. Ants LOVE those flowers. And when I brush against them while mowing the grass the get on me and start biting. Stupid ants! Sorry I don't have any advice for you.
