Muscari macrocarpum, Aegean Islands and western Turkey, is what
initially occurred to me, but Muscari muscarimi could be thought of
as yellowish in some forms, and is certainly fragrant -- also SW Turkey.

Either of these, but particularly M. macrocarpum, may have been
cultivated by the flower-loving Persians, and I doubt that
Sackville-West was wandering around in the mountains.
