I am only familiar with windows in carnivorous pitcher plants, Sarracenia. The theory is that once under the hood of the pitcher, the insect mistakenly thinks the window is a way out and is lured further into the trap. I have no experience with windows on flowers, but seems like Nhu's explanation makes good sense... that it must have something to do with the plant's relationship with insects. Dennis in Cincinnati
