Not really, though growing in the Namib it definitely gets extremes, though not those of a mid Atlantic climate. Mine were young plants I had raised from seed, and they got baked dry by an unexpected heat spell when I was away for a weekend. Another year older and in larger pots they might have made it. I hope to try again if seed are available.
