Calochortus rescue -- thoughts?

Folks,

The note below came into the Pacific Bulb Society mailbox. I have asked her
for more details on the situation, but in the meantime do you have any
advice for her? People she should contact?

I know there have been rescue and relocation efforts in the past with other
Calochortus species. Does anyone know how they worked out?

Thanks,

Mike

This is a message from the PBS website for mikemace.

Sorry if this isn\'t the correct forum for questions, but will try anyway -
we are working on a project involving a wetland in Lake Isabella, CA where
there exists a known population of alkali mariposa lily. We would like to
learn if anyone has experience with successful transplanting of this bulb.
We have tried contacting the local botanist who apparently does annual
surveys, but so far to no avail.

Any information you may have and would be willing to share would be most
appreciated. Thank you very much.

We got a reference (well, sort of - had to do some exploring) to your
society from Glenn Keator. Again. thank you.
