Justin, kniphofias are mostly seasonal marsh plants favoring low ground or seeps in the mountains. Remember it is not a bulb or has anything that could resemble a bulb by any stretch of the imagination therefore no reserves in case it is forced back into dormancy. Although they may be dry (mostly in winter, according to the species) the rest of the year they enjoy wet feet.
