PBS on Facebook

One certainly doesn't have to be on Facebook, but as Dennis pointed out, if
anyone on Facebook lists a club or society as one of their activities, if
no Facebook page already exists for that club then one is automatically
created. I think any officer of the society can take over ownership of
that page, once it is created. The PBS webmaster might want to look into
that.

Some groups are intentionally created. There is a small but very active
group for Haemanthus on Facebook, for instance. It has caught on while an
older Yahoo Group for Haemanthus is barely alive.

I personally prefer e-mail lists like PBS, but we tend to go where things
are working best. The Haemanthus group on Facebook works particularly
well, it seems. So I am finding room for both, just as I finally joined
the SRGC Forum.
