Amaryllis planting (was: Separating Brunsvigia)

Amaryllis rootactivity starts as soon as there is humidity and lower
temperatures (here early september). So get the bulbs in place BEFORE that
period. An other advantage that you may have flowering instantly after
planting. Even so the bulb may require up to 2 years to become well
established to allow forming a net work of fleshy roots.

Amaryllis belladonna experts always told me that the best time to replant
was in the fall, just after they bloom.
