Bedding Rhodophiala: "Better safe than sorry."

I grow many Rhodophiala species and I've no problems growing them outdoors in the warmer months and indoors during the colder months, many bloom well and stick to their own schedule.

David, the alpines ones: araucana, andicola, montana, rhodolirion, etc. are probably most suited to Sacramento in a northern exposure.

Treat them like species tulips.

For the others you will need a greenhouse.
