Patents and Plant Breeders Rights are the only way to protect a plant from unauthorized propagation. Trademarks cannot be legally used as names of plants or any product. These trademarks are unenforceable and in violation of trademark law. You can read more at…

Subject: [pbs] re?Plant Breeders Right

The Eu country seems have 2 choice of registrations of Plant Breeders Right .

Registered in local country or resisted in EU. should be the way for EU. (Protected in whole EU)

By the way, beside the Plant Breeders Right and trademark which are could be register to get protect.
The Patents also could be registered for such as a genome which are disease resistant in a variety for protect.

(I wonder that If the Trademark and Patents were also have the difference in registration in Local and whole EU.)
