Cape bulb growing in Taiwan

Sure you can, just not outside in the ground.  You need a greenhouse or some
sort of other protection so they don't rot in the summer rain/humidity.
Getting enough coolness in winter might also be an issue, depending on the
elevation at which you're growing the bulbs.

One of the stalwarts of the old International Bulb Society was a gentleman
in Hong Kong named Dennis Tsang.  He posted a lot of photos of South African
bulbs, some of which I believe he had grown in captivity.  I'm pretty sure
some of them were Cape bulbs, not just the summer rain species.

Others on the list will know more about Dennis, and unfortunately I think he
has now dropped from sight.  But Hong Kong's easily as tropical as Taiwan,
so if he could do it, anyone can.
