Dear All, The new blog : http://sativor.blogspot.fr/ is an invitation to anyone involved in the cultivation of Crocus sativus at a small scale or at a professional farming level, willing to share knowledgeable observations on the plant. Very interestingly, blooming peak dates vary from year to year, but curiously, they tend to be synchronized between saffron farms accross vast geographical areas and climate zones. Because the phenomenon is insufficiently documented to be studied statistically, and because it seems, from informal discussions between French saffron farmers, that regular reports of synchronizations exist, a first thread on this topics was launched today.
