Almost nothing will smother the Oxalis.  I used to have a major problem 
with it.  Roundup in a stronger than suggested solution works well, with 
a small applicator bottle with the stronger mix to apply to "volunteer" 
ones amongst other plants.  If you plant Amaryllis over Oxalis, you will 
not get rid of it, and have trouble to ever get it out of the Amarylis.
