Dell,

I have had a lot of Colchicums in Hungary on wet heavy clay soils, they
were fine, i've planted them deep, as in Hungary normally C. autumnale
grows very deep 20-30 cm. I put 15 cm soil on top of the corms, they were
fine, later they adjust their depth. This occurs in the 2nd year after
planting normally.
