Um, big apologies for the spam all!!!  After more hours on the net I have found what I appear to be my final final guess on species, Lachenalia longibracteata.

Grows in the area, covers these color variations, and most importantly has the long bracts! :).

I think the long bracts make it unique.  Apparently the leaves can be spotted or smooth.  Do I hear a second? :).
