Dear Diane,
No quite definately the inner segments are suffused orange.In the garden it shows up quite well.
G.nivalis 'Sandhill Gate' being a pure white snowdrop does indeed show orange from it's bright orange pollen.
You really have to see 'Jonathan' to get the effect. There is no bright orange snowdrop as yet.Only apricot ones.
Pulling off the stamens would not affect the colour of the inner segments.
I can provide more close-ups?
